Finished your first freediving introduction class and wondering what to do next?
Your first session is only the beginning. The best next step depends on what you want to improve—whether that's becoming more comfortable in the water, improving your technique, training your breath-hold, or preparing for open-water freediving.
At Azul Freediving, we offer several ways to continue your training.
If you enjoyed your introduction class but still want to build your confidence and technique, pool training is a good next step.
Pool sessions allow you to practice the fundamentals in a controlled environment, including:
Breathing and relaxation
Breath-hold technique
Equalization
Body position
Finning technique
Water comfort
Safety and buddy skills
Azul Freediving offers pool classes at Blueworld, Dive Buddy, and Scuba Studio in Metro Manila.
You can continue with regular sessions instead of trying to progress everything in one class.
If you are already comfortable in the pool and want to work specifically on your freediving technique and depth progression, line training can be your next step.
Line training gives you the opportunity to practice vertical freediving using a dive line while receiving guidance from an instructor.
It can help you work on:
Equalization
Streamlining
Finning efficiency
Relaxation during descent
Body positioning
Depth progression
Safe and controlled training habits
At Azul, line training is available for students who are ready for this type of practice.
Once you are comfortable with your fundamentals, you can take your skills into the ocean.
Azul Freediving offers open-water sessions in Mabini, Batangas, where you can experience actual ocean conditions and continue developing your freediving skills.
Open water is different from the pool because you may encounter depth, currents, waves, visibility changes, and other environmental factors.
Your instructor can help you determine when you're ready.
If you want a more structured path, your next step can be a freediving certification course.
Certification courses go beyond simply practicing breath-holds or trying to reach a certain depth. They provide structured education covering technique, knowledge, safety, and rescue skills appropriate to the certification level.
Azul offers freediving certification through internationally recognized training systems, including RAID, AIDA, Molchanovs, and SSI, depending on the instructor and program.
You don't have to become a deep diver immediately after your introduction class.
For some students, the next goal is simply becoming more relaxed underwater. Others want to improve equalization, develop better technique, or eventually train for certification.
The best progression is the one that matches your current skills and goals.
At Azul Freediving, we can help you determine whether your next step should be pool training, line training, open water, or certification.
Learn the fundamentals. Practice consistently. Progress when you're ready.
